Football agent Mark Berry yesterday decided to strike while the iron was hot and talk up some of the Trinidad and Tobago stars he represents in the hope of securing moves up the league ladder.
Berry works on behalf of three of the Soca Warriors' more impressive performers in a side that held Sweden to a 0-0 draw and were narrowly beaten by two late goals against England on Thursday. Brent Sancho of Gillingham, Wrexham's Dennis Lawrence and Carlos Edwards of Luton have all earned plaudits for their efforts in Germany, and their agent is making sure it doesn't go unnoticed.
Edwards, linked with a move to Norwich a few weeks ago, is the highest profile of the three, and is apparently drawing attention from the Premiership, with new Charlton boss Iain Dowie on the prowl.
"There have been quite a few clubs contacting me about Carlos and asking what his status is," said Berry. "He's contracted to Luton for another two seasons more but there has been alot of interested clubs ringing up asking about him."
"I know Norwich were interested in him as a potential right winger before the World Cup. Since the World Cup his performances have been outstanding at right-back and I've had a lot of phone calls in the last couple of days. Mike Newell loves the player but if the right offer comes in they would be interested."
