Nigel Worthington has once again been moved to distance the club from suggestions that prize assets Dean Ashton and Robert Green will be Premiership bound in January.
David Moyes was the latest top flight boss to be present at a Norwich match, following Alan Pardew and Alan Curbishley, visitors to Carrow Road for the match against Cardiff. With Everton struggling at the wrong end of the table, rumours have resurfaced about the potential departure of both Ashton and Green.
Worthington's response to the speculation was typically fatalistic, telling the Eastern Daily Press simply that he couldn't stop the speculation, the players are under contract, and he hadn't heard anything.
Green, currently on England duty, was linked with moves to Fulham and Portsmouth in the summer, and must be concerned that the Canaries' form will hinder his chances of going to the World Cup.
Ashton, on the other hand, signed a new contract to silence talk of a move to Wigan, West Ham or Manchester City in particular, but has continued to stand out in a poor season for the side so far. Both he and Green have been the most vociferous supporters of their manager, and have remained professional in the face of continued tittle-tattle
