With a number of will-he, won't-he transfer sagas around the top clubs in Europe, Glenn Roeder completed another drawn-out transfer today with the acquisition of David Bell from Luton, according to reports.
Sky Sports and Team Talk are both reporting that the move for Bell, believed to cost Norwich somewhere between £400,000 and £600,000, has now been finalised.
Bell's move, which beats the likes of Coventry and Leicester to the former Rushden midfielder's signature, was first mooted in May. He had been linked with a switch to Premier League Portsmouth in January, but Luton's financial problems meant a loan to Leicester was more appealing. He has shown admirable loyalty to the Hatters during a fall which has seen them go from Mike Newell's play-off chasers in the Championship to 30 points adrift at the foot of League Two before a ball is kicked.
