Robert Earnshaw and Carl Robinson were both involved from the start in Wales' 2-0 defeat to Brazil at White Hart Lane.
Robinson was detailed to look after the runs from deep of such illustrious names as Ronaldinho and Kaka, and did a very effective job throughout an impressive first half for John Toshack's side.
It was after Robbo had been replaced by Carl Fletcher that debutant full-back Marcelo was afforded space to stroll forward and unleash a fierce shot beyond Paul Jones in the Welsh goal.
Earnshaw had earlier wasted arguably the best chance of the first half, taking a Ryan Giggs pass in his stride but failing to get the ball across Gomes, who put the ball behind for a corner. Earnie drew criticism from BBC stooges Neville Southall and Lee Dixon at half time, and had a quieter second half before being replaced by David Cotterill, who came within a whisker of moving to Carrow Road last week.
Vagner Love completed the scoring with a flicked header from Cicinho's cross.
