Peter Grant will take Norwich to face Rochdale for the first time in over 30 years in the second round of the Carling Cup.
Dale were the defeated opponents of the Canaries back in 1962 when they won the League Cup in a two-legged final. They have never lost to the Spotland side in their meagre seven meetings, the last of which came in the 1975 FA Cup Third round.
Keith Hill's side lost their opening Coca Cola League Two match last weekend 3-0 to Peterborough, but went on to oust Championship side Stoke in a penalty shoot-out after a 2-2 draw.
Norwich, who beat Barnet 5-2 this week, are officially the second most successful side in the history of the competition, behind only West Ham United.
The tie will be played in the week commencing the 27th August.
