Strikers Shola Ameobi and Bobby Zamora could be in line for loans to Carrow Road, according to this morning's newspapers.
Glenn Roeder, who saw his new side fall to a second defeat of the week at Plymouth this afternoon, is aware of the need to add quality to his beleagured squad.
Roeder intends to use his connections to plunder the Premier League for loan stars during the coming international break. Ameobi is well down the pecking order at Roeder's former club Newcastle, with the small matter of Michael Owen, Mark Viduka, Obafemi Martins and Alan Smith ahead of him.
It is thought that Norwich would have had Ameobi for today's match but for injuries at St James Park, although Roeder denied that this was the case in his post-match press conference.
Zamora, of West Ham, is also behind a number of big names at Upton Park. Either he or Ameobi would have plenty to prove should they be lured to the foot of the Championship.
