Velasco, 30, was allowed to join outside the transfer window as a free agent. He is awaiting international clearance on a move which could see him make his debut in the weekend clash with Barnsley.
The right back has four caps for Spain and was part of their Euro 2000 squad. He joins after impressing on trial and has signed a three-month deal.
