This sudden swoop for the 29 year old was somewhat of a surprise for Canary fans as the former Wimbledon and Stockport player agreed to join Norwich for their final 10 games of the season.
Cooper has cut short his loan spell at Sunderland to join Norwich and his former Wolves team-mate Marc Edworthy at Carrow Road. Cooper admits he has just happy to be given a chance of first team football.
"It's been a case of going from one end of the country to the other, but this is a great opportunity for me to get something out of a season that appeared to be going nowhere."
Worthington is delighted with the addition to the squad. Hoping that Cooper can have a similar impact to Darren Huckerby, Peter Crouch and Kevn Harper when they first arrived at Carrow Road.
"He's got a quality left foot, can get at people, come inside and score a goal – as we know from the play-offs,"
"He was someone we'd considered before we brought Darren Huckerby, Matt Svensson and Leon McKenzie in, but at the time circumstances were such that Wolves didn't want to let him out," said Worthington
Worthington was very grateful to Dave Jones for letting Cooper join the Canaries and was high in praise for the efforts of Neil Doncaster.
"Thanks have got to go to Dave Jones for enabling Kevin to come here and to Neil Doncaster and Kevan Platt for turning all the paperwork around in such a short space of time."
Cooper has had a good friendship with Marc Edworthy for quite some time and the Canary full back was not the only familiar face to welcome him into Norwich.
"I know Marc very well but I also know Damien Francis from Wimbledon and young Briggsy from Stockport," said Cooper
Cooper goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s clash with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Which I will be going to along with 8,000 other Canary fans.
