Robert Earnshaw's first Norwich City goal away from Carrow Road will be the first of many, according to the man who brought him to the club.
City boss Nigel Worthington revealed that the former Cardiff man, who condemned his first club to defeat with a cracking 16th minute volley yesterday, had needed a confidence boost when he arrived at Carrow Road following a disappointing end to his spell at West Bromwich Albion.
"I had to rebuild his confidence when he came to us but he's always had belief in his ability," said Worthington of the Welsh international, who also supplied a winning brace against Queens Park Rangers in the Canaries' last outing. "I expect him to carry on scoring as long as he's with us. That's his seventh goal in 12 games since I signed him - and that's a good return at any level."
Earnshaw's goal at Ninian Park, as well as marking his first competitive return to the Bluebirds in the best manner, meant that Norwich's green Lotus away shirt could be retired with a win under its belt. So scarce have away wins been in the last two seasons, the racing green number had begun to be seen as a jinx, but bowed out in style in Wales.
