Enquiries in already in the race to succeed Worthington

The search for a new manager to fill the Carrow Road vacancy left by Nigel Worthington's sacking has begun.

Several newspapers reported that former Charlton boss and England candidate Alan Curbishley was at yesterday's defeat by Burnley that proved the final nail in the coffin. Nobody has yet confirmed whether or not Curbishley, currently enjoying a break from the game, was present.

Chief executive Neil Doncaster, meanwhile, says that he has already had enquiries from 'high-calibre' individuals within the game. He did not rule caretaker boss Martin Hunter out of the race, and refused to put a time frame on the search.
