South African youngster Matty Pattison has joined Glenn Roeder's ex-Newcastle contingent in Norfolk after signing a loan deal for the rest of the year.
Pattison, 21, has been at St James Park since the age of 14, and follows Roeder and Lee Clark from the North East. He is expected to be followed by former Magpies winger Paul Stephenson, currently on the coaching staff at Hartlepool.
According to Roeder, Pattison was marked out on his arrival as Academy Director as the brightest prospect on the books at Newcastle. The new Norwich boss gave the youngster a dozen first team appearances during his tenure, but he has failed to feature under Sam Allardyce.
Pattison becomes Roeder's second loan signing after Matt Taylor joined from Birmingham. His deal runs until January 1st, but he will be out of contract on Tyneside in the summer.
