The Former Coventry striker, now Norwich star, has hit back at the Coventry fans who gave him some stick during Saturday's game.
Huckerby admits he was bemused at to why the Highfield Road fans would boo him considering the successful 3 year period he enjoyed at Coventry.
“'I was very disappointed to be booed and I can't understand it,” said Huckerby.
“I had three great years here and I never wanted to leave the club.
“They chose to sell me and made a profit from it.
“We had good times when I was here at Coventry and there were some very good players in the side.”
Huckerby: I can't believe I was Booed
Huckerby didn't let the abuse get to him as he played a part in both goals which helped Norwich to a comfortable 2-0 win.
The victory kept Norwich 5 points clear at the top of the table, but Huckerby knows there is still a long way to go.
“I enjoyed my time at Highfield Road and have never said anything against the club or done anything to upset the supporters, so I don't understand why they wanted to have a go at me,” he added.
“'We are five points clear but we know that everyone is chasing us and we have to make sure we keep winning games like these.”
Huckerby certainly has been a huge hit since he arrived at Carrow Road and his footballing skills are not the only thing that have contributed to Huckerby Mania.
He has also began setting trends in Norwich's hair salons. The 'Huck Cut' has become very popular around Norwich and Adrian Rowe, owner his own Branch of hair salons in Norwich admits the "Huck Cut' is a massive hit.
"There has been an upsurge in colouring with men and the footballers always lead the way on that line," he said.
"Requests for this sort of style have certainly increased since Huckerby came. Whether its connected with Darren or not, I don't know. This hairstyle first came about when David Beckham had it a few years back.
"But Darren is a big fish for Norwich, so it wouldn't surprise me."
So Huckerby is cult hero in Norwich for more ways than one. I'm now off to the hair salon to have a 'Delia Cut'.............
On the ball...........
