Former Wigan Athletic and Bradford City boss Paul Jewell is being tipped to become the new boss of beleagured Norwich City by the Daily Mirror.
Peter Grant's year-long reign at the helm at Carrow Road was ended last night following Monday night's 1-0 defeat at Queens Park Rangers, and Jewell is the first name seriously linked with the vacant post.
Jewell has an excellent record of getting teams promoted to the top flight, having done so with both Bradford and Wigan. On both occasions he kept the side in the Premier League, leaving Bradford after a season following a falout with Chairman Geoffrey Richmond and resigning from Wigan after a difficult second season in which they flirted with relegation.
The Liverpudlian turned the Latics around with the help of Dave Whelan's money. He took them from the third to the top tier in rapid succession and took the JJB Stadium side to the final of the Carling Cup.
Jewell is one of a number of potential targets currently without a management position. he is currently a regular pundit on Sky Sports but would be likely to be tempted by a job in the Championship.
