The Coca Cola Championship looks the likely destination for Celtic's John Kennedy as he is reported to be in talks with Norwich and Preston.
Kennedy, 24, has been training with Motherwell but, due to Celtic's demands for his entire wage packet to be covered for his loan period, has been priced out of a move to Fir Park.
Now Glenn Roeder has stepped in and could make the one-cap Scot his eighth summer signing. Alan Irvine is also interested and, if the Lilywhites boss is successful in securing his target, he could feature against Motherwell as part of Preston's pre-season programme.
Norwich face Tottenham on Monday in a match televised on Setanta Sports. Roeder hopes to have a target man on board to complement Jamie Cureton and new loan signing from Fiorentina Arturo Lupoli in attack.
