The Canary striker feels he has done more than enough to get a chance to impress for the full 90 minutes. He has now scored 5 times in 9 starts since his move from Peterborough in December, only 5 of which have been starts.
McKenzie last start came when Norwich drew 4-4 will Rotherham and since then has been left on the bench feeling very frustrated as all he wants to do is play.
"I really enjoyed myself out there – I always do when I'm out there playing," said McKenzie
"It was good to get 45 minutes and now I would obviously like to keep my place in the side, but we'll have to wait and see what happens.
"My spell on the bench hasn't affected my sharpness – scoring goals is what I do. And if I'm given the opportunity hopefully I can continue doing it."
All McKenzie's Norwich goals have so far been away from Carrow Road, but he is confident he will break the home duck sooner rather than later.
"I'm happy with my goal record since I came here – and it's only a matter of time before I get one at home," he said. "All I can do is be patient and make the most of the opportunities when they come.
"On Saturday the manager just told me to go on and do what I do – get involved in the game and try and score some goals.
"I was pleased with the finish. It was a good move and the ball just bounced nicely in front of me. I took a strike with my right foot and it ended up in the back of the net.
"I had a few other chances – there was a shot across the face of goal that I think the keeper got something on and there was also a header later on, although it would have been ruled out for offside had it gone in.
"It was just good to be out there again and hopefully I'll get another chance soon."
On the ball.......
