Mills on the move

With old boys Jamie Cureton and Darel Russell having returned to Carrow Road this summer, BBC Sport is reporting that another former Norwich man is on the move.

Danny Mills, who left Norwich for Charlton in 1998 and subsequently played for Leeds, Middlesbrough and Manchester City in the Premiership while earning 19 England caps, has reportebly been deemed surplus to requirements at Eastlands by his former national team boss Sven Goran Eriksson.

Along with Ousmane Dabo and Paul Dickov, Mills looks likely to be pushed out by the arrival of a host of new foreign signings since the Swede took charge. Norwich boss Peter Grant may be tempted to move for Mills as he looks for defensive cover before the new season.

The Canaries have been linked with West Ham's Calum Davenport in recent days and are short of options at the back beyond the front choice back four of Adam Drury, Jason Shackell, Gary Doherty and Jon Otsemobor. Although Mills is past his 30th birthday, he could still be a valuable addition to any Championship side.
