Nigerian-born midfielder Dickson Etuhu will be thrown straight into action by Nigel Worthington on Saturday.
The 23-year-old and his new boss spoke of their mutual delight at the player's arrival in East Anglia after an 18-month flirtation that began in nearby Ipswich.
Worthington, handing Etuhu Damien Francis' number 20 shirt, also revealed that the conversion of the Preston player's loan into a permanent deal in January is a formality. His bid to replace Wigan star Francis as the engine in the City midfield as well as the occupant of the same shirt will begin at the weekend, with the former Manchester City man told he will start against Luton.
Etuhu expressed his joy at joining a club with as much going for it as Norwich, and vowed to work hard to get his fitness up before his debut. Despite scoring twice for the Lillywhites this term, the former Everton target has been on the fringes of Billy Davies' side since the arrival on loan of Manchester United youngster David Jones and the collapse of his own proposed move to Goodison Park to link up with ex-boss David Moyes in the summer.
