You couldn't have asked more of him really. How many on-loan players walk straight into a side and score 5 goals in as many games - not many! Now that he's put pen to paper lets hope his spectacular form continues next Sunday at Man City.
Norwich City's board of directors deserve some credit here, they agreed a fee for Nielsen before he even came here. No doubt that if they hadn't done this Wimbledon would have upped Nielsen's price-tag, their manager finally realising that's he's not in fact a right-winger after all and is actually rather handy when played up-front! Doubtless the fans were glad to see him go though, after all, how can you forgive a player that scored against your own club, whilst on-loan from your club??
Nigel Worthington commented: "By signing a two-and-a-half year deal David has shown his commitment to the Club and I'm very pleased the deal has gone through.
"He's strong, he has got that little bit of pace we've been looking for up front and he's taken his chances very well during his loan spell. He's done exceptionally well for us and he will be a useful addition to our squad.
"We now have plenty of healthy competition for places in our forward line and that's got to be good news for the Club."
