And 31-year-old Drury told BBC Radio Norfolk: "We want to play great football, and play free-flowing attacking football.
"But at this stage of the season it's about getting the job done."
He added: "Sometimes if we have to scrap out results but we win the games that's what we'll do."
Drury will hope to return to the City first team against Burnley on Saturday, after missing the Lions clash because of a thigh injury.
But he will have to nudge out new left-back Marc Tierney, who deputised for Drury in midweek, if he is to reclaim his place in the side.
"Mark's a great player and a good lad as well," the former Peterborough man admitted.
"Anyone the gaffer brings in is competition for places, we've got two or three players for every position now.
"I think that adds to why we're doing so well, because if you drop off your game you find yourself out of the side."
Meanwhile midfielder Andrew Crofts has expressed his delight at being included in Gary Speed's first Wales squad.
The Welsh face the Republic of Ireland next week with 26-year-old Crofts, who has six goals in 29 games for the Canaries this term, looking to add to his 15 international caps.
"I'm over the moon with the call-up, I've been really happy with the way things are going but I've got to keep working hard," he said.
"It's nice to be involved in Gary Speed's first squad and I'm looking forward to meeting up with them.
"You can only learn from people like that [Speed], everyone knows what a top quality player he was.
"I can just go there and learn as much as I can from him and I'm sure he's going to be a very good manager."
