Having secured two loan signings already, Norwich boss Nigel Worthington has revealed that he has been temporarily rebuffed in a bid for Republic of Ireland defender Andy O'Brien.
O'Brien, 26, has slipped down the pecking order at Portsmouth, but Pompey boss Harry Redknapp has told the Canaries that no loan deal can be done 'at the moment'.
Worthington said that the capture of former Newcastle man O'Brien, were it to go ahead, would provide competition for places in defence. It would be for a month initially.
