Returning from injury, Norwich midfielder Youssef Safrfi will take his place in the Morocco midfield to face the Ivory Coast imminently.
Safri plays alongside fellow former Coventry man Youssef Chippo, Charlton Athletic's Talal El Karkouri and Spurs veteran Nouredine Naybet in the Atlas Lions line up for their opening match in the 2006 African Nations Cup.
Morocco will have to overcome opponents set for their World Cup debut in Germany in June and including Didier Drogba and Kolo Toure in their ranks.
