Saints midfielder signs

Peter Grant completed a double swoop from north of the border when he signed St Mirren midfielder Simon Lappin fgor an undisclosed fee. Lappin, 24, has represented Scotland at a number of different levels up to Under-21. He has made over 180 appearances for the Saints, who had voiced their desire to retain the left-sided player earlier this week. Lappin joins ex-Celtic man Mark Fotheringham as a deadline day signing.
