Summer signing Peter Thorne hopes to provide a boost to manager Nigel Worthington by completing 90 minutes for the club's second string tonight.
Former Cardiff City striker Thorne has missed the majority of the season since his summer switch from Ninian Park, but made a return as a substitute during Saturday's defeat at Wolves.
The 32-year-old will join Matthieu Louis-Jean, Craig Fleming and Simon Charlton in Keith Webb's line-up to face the Eagles at Carrow Road and, providing that he comes through unscathed, would hope to come into contention for a starting place for the visit of Mike Newell's Luton Town after the international break.
City have badly needed Thorne, who was signed to provide competition for first choice strike duo Leon McKenzie and Dean Ashton, as both have missed games. McKenzie is still a few weeks short of fitness since injuring an ankle, so Thorne's re-emergence will provide an alternative to youngsters like Ryan Jarvis and Ian Henderson, who have been thrown in at the deep end as the Canaries continue to misfire in front of goal.
