Trailing 4-1 to Steve McLarens side with just 1o minutes remaining, Norwich fought back to earn a much needed point, to the delight of the Canaries boss.
"I've been involved in a game like that before as a player but not as a manager," he said after the game at Carrow Road.
"I remember a few years ago when I was playing for Sheffield Wednesday we led 3-1 against Chelsea in the FA Cup, only for it to end 4-4 at the end of extra-time.
"I have to admit that at 3-1 down I was left scratching my head thinking 'where do we go from here' because we hadn't done anything wrong. But I have to give great credit to the players for the way they came back.
"When we got into the dressing room the first thing I reminded the players of was a home game earlier this season against Blackburn.
"On that occasion we led 1-0 with six minutes to go and ended up conceding a goal late on and only taking a point. That felt like a defeat that day.
"Even though we have only got a point, this was a moral victory."
