Norwich came from behind three times to record a little bit of history - their first ever win at Burnley.
Darren Huckerby and Matt Svensson both scored twice with Leon McKenzie completing the scoring while Norwich also had the luxury of two other efforts disallowed for offside.
Neil Wood, David May and Robbie Blake were the Burnley marksmen, all in the first half, but there was no denying the Canaries their right to the points.
Every time Burnley got in front the visitors hit back almost immediately and although the entertainment standard was the best at Turf Moor this season it proved little consolation for Clarets boss Stan Ternent.
"We were very good in the first half and very poor in the second and only have ourselves to blame," he said.
"The second half was unacceptable and how you can score three times at home and end up with nothing is incredible, in fact it's ridiculous." Burnley keeper Brian Jensen had an afternoon he'll want to forget and he was singled out as the villain by his manager but while Ternent was all frowns and disappointment his opposite number Nigel Worthington was all smiles and joy.
"It was very pleasing to see how the lads kept coming back and we won - deservedly so - because of our character, determination and honesty.
"The history books show how hard it is to get a win at Burnley and in the end I'm delighted with the result although our first-half defending was not the best." Wood's sixth minute free-kick put Burnley ahead before Svensson equalised as the Burnley defenders slept.
May shinned the ball home to restore the home side's lead before another defensive mix-up allowed Huckerby to level.
Blake's 18th goal of the season was cancelled out by Leon McKenzie's far-post header before Svensson ended the afternoon's best move with a powerful header past Jensen.
Huckerby completed the rout three minutes from time and Norwich also had two other efforts disallowed for offside.
