The one-nil scoreline didn't do the Canaries justice as they dominated possesion and had several opportunities to add to Russell Martin's 10th minute opener. They made the League Leaders look ordinary and Andrew Crofts did so well to limit the impact that Rangers star man Adel Taarabt had, that the midfielder was substituted with a third of the game left!
For the third time this season defender Matt Connolly was shown a straight red card, when early in the second half he brought down Grant Holt as he bore down on the R's penalty area. With the home-side failing to add to their goal tally City's fans had to endure a few anxious moments as ten-man QPR mounted a late salvo.
Paul Lambert had to juggle his injury ravaged squad yet again and was missing the injured David Fox and suspended Simon Lappin. The City boss was able to recall Wes Hoolahan and Adam Drury respectively, to replace them.
After his cameo sub appearance in the 4-2 home-win over Sheffield United, Zak Whitbread was preferred to Jens Berthel-Askou to partner Michael Nelson in central defence. And although Aaron Wilbraham only joined the Canaries from MK Dons on Thursday, the 31 year-old striker went straight into the starting line-up replacing Simeon Jackson alongside Grant Holt, before even training with his new team-mates!
