Kevin Foley's first goal for Wolves helped fire Mick McCarthy's side to a badly needed win as nine-man Norwich City found themselves completely outplayed at Molineux.
Right-back Foley, who joined Wolves for £1million from Luton Town last month, struck after 23 minutes and Andy Keogh's first league goal of the season 12 minutes later sealed their victory.
Wolves had gone into the game after losing their previous two matches against Sheffield United and Hull City.
But they looked anything like a team lacking in form as they dominated proceedings against on out of sorts Norwich.
Peter Grant's Norwich side looked as if they were still suffering from the after affects of their late defeat at Charlton on Tuesday.
They failed to force goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey into a single save after a toothless display and could only muster one corner in contrast to the 17 forced by Wolves.
Their day went from bad to worse in the space of 12 second-half minutes when skipper Jason Shackell and midfielder Julien Brellier were both sent off.
Shackell was handed a straight red card by referee Steve Bennett in the 63rd minute for an ugly challenge on Karl Henry.
Brellier was then dismissed for collecting two yellow cards in the space of two seconds.
He earned his first yellow card for a foul on Ward and his second for kicking the ball at the same player.
It was a surprise that it took Wolves 23 minutes to break the deadlock as Stephen Elliott wasted two golden chances before Foley struck.
He pounced on a loose ball after Norwich had failed to fully clear a corner from Michael Kightly.
Foley moved forward unchecked before beating David Marshall from the edge of the area.
Kightly and Elliott then squandered another two openings before Keogh effectively made the game safe 10 minutes before half-time.
Michael Gray won the ball in the Wolves area and released Ward, who in turn fed Republic of Ireland international Keogh.
Norwich allowed him to race clear from the half-way line and Keogh scored with a low 25 yard drive that left Marshall rooted to his line.
Wolves should have gone on to give the final scoreline a more resounding look but Elliott missed another two great chances from inside the six-yard box, while Keogh sliced wide when he only had Marshall to beat.
